Coca-Cola Canada is launching a new kind of self-serve fountain they’ve branded “Freestyle”. Each machine has an ingredient library that can instantly mix any of more than one hundred different brands of soda including a few that are new to Canada such as Pibb, FUZE tea, and various fruit-flavoured versions of Sprite, Hi-C, Powerade, and Coke. For my weekly Gearing Up report on Studio 12 I attended the launch of the pilot location at Cineplex’s Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto. Over the course of this year the fountains will be installed across Canada, with locations being listed at Facebook.com/cocacola.
