Florence Wilkinson and Dan Stowell of Queen Mary University who are developing an app that can identify birds by their song. Warblr will submit audio recordings of birds taken with your phone along with your GPS location for comparison against an online database to return an identification. Their plan is to offer the resulting data gathered from the app’s use to conservation research groups for free.

Carla Bahri and fellow Princeton grad Gilad Arwatz have developed a “smart, electric deodorant” called the ClickStick, part of a trend towards looking at inventions from the 50’s that have remained unchanged and giving them a 21st century boost. Their Kickstarter video is hilarious.
