Oregon Zoo volunteer guides Jennie and Jo Ann run a Maker Space for the animal enrichment program that teaches locals to gather and create special quilts with puzzle pockets for the Zoo’s primates. The pockets are used to hide treats within the complex patterns of the quilts.
For those who attend it’s a chance to learn a new skill while the Chimps and Orangutans get a fresh supply of between 30 – 40 quilts a year.
